For most of my life, I had no idea how to eat well.

 

In spite of being very active - playing soccer and working out daily - I was still clueless about proper nutrition.

 

And it cost me dearly.

 

By the time I was 17 my body had had enough.

 

My immune system turned against my body and attacked my hair follicles. I lost all my hair.

 

I had no idea what caused this to happen.

 

At the same time, my energy levels were lower than ratings of government issued bonds in Greece.

 

I was tired all the time.

 

But I continued eating the same way I always had.

 

I didn't know any different.

 

Worse still, I had NO IDEA about the consequences of my food choices.

 

I had no clue that the reason for my low energy and auto-immune condition was the same…

 

My diet.

 

It wasn't until several years later that I woke and "smelled the coffee".

 

To this point in my life, there have been 2 pivotal moments that have set me on the right path in my journey to great health and helping others achieve the same.

 

The first was deciding NOT to continue pursuing my pro soccer career.

 

The second, and more important, was my decision to go back to school to study holistic nutrition.

 

I mean check this out…

 

While pro playing soccer in France, my post-game ritual was to go for "doner kebab" and french fries with a few teammates. Man, they love their fries in France.

 

Before games I would unknowingly self-sabotage by eating 2-3 Nutella-loaded crepes.

 

I ate white pasta every single day.

 

I mean come on!

 

I had no idea what I was doing and what those food choices were doing to me.

 

But all of that came to a screeching halt after learning about nutrition and its impact on my body and health.

 

Now that I completely understand what french fries do inside my body… tearing apart the membranes of my body's cells, creating inflammation, and more…

 

I can barely stomach them.

 

That's a good thing.

 

But like most people…

 

I've also gone through times where I've completely gone off track with my diet. And as with anything in life, momentum took its course and made it very tough to get back on the healthy path.

 

For me, and for many others, what made the difference was understanding how my choices were affecting my health.

 

I love knowing "why" things happen.

 

It's very empowering and a great way to get back on track if you're lacking the
motivation.

 

They say that "ignorance is bliss"... and that's true.

 

But it's also very dangerous.

 

If you ignore or are unaware of how foods impact your body and health, then that needs to change.

 

You need to be fully responsible for your health because I sure as heck wouldn't leave your health in the hands of your doctor, drug companies, the food industry, or anyone else.

 

Who you are today…the health you have…your body…

 

Are ALL a reflection of the dietary, lifestyle, and mindset choices you've made up until now.

 

And the good news is that tomorrow is a new day.
